"If we were meant to stay in one place we would have roots, not feet."
When was the last time you felt like you were either stuck in a rut or feeling like you were riding on the merry-go-round of life without having or seeking any new experiences? Sometimes life can seem to be running us instead of us running our own lives, like we are stuck on autopilot. Our daily routine of tending to our commitments can get monotonous and suck the joy out of our lives if we are not careful.
I'm not suggesting a week long vacation or a road trip, although those can be a great ways to hit the reset button on life. Sometimes, it can be something as simple as switching up a daily routine or incorporating new ones. Maybe there is a class or workshop you considered taking to help you learn a new skill or hobby. Perhaps you wanted to go check out a new farmers market or restaurant that serves your favorite food. Adventure and new experiences are lurking around every corner.

I am all about trying new things and visiting new places. I crave variety and I'm definitely not afraid of the unfamiliar. Some of the best experiences I have ever had in my life have been because I decided to leave my comfort zone and try something new. When I lived in Chicago I would explore neighborhoods I have never walked through. I would immerse myself in the culture of each neighborhood. The people. The food. The music. I was able to learn about and experience such a variety of culture without even leaving the city I lived in. It was amazing.
Seeking new adventures and experiences does not have to be elaborate or expensive. It just has to be different. When we open ourselves up to new possibilities and opportunities, we invite more joy, awe and excitement into our lives. We simply have to make the choice to switch up our routine and try something new. What's life for if we are not willing to explore all that it has to offer us? We only have to be willing to get out of our comfort zone and see for ourselves.
