"Always remember, your focus determines your reality."
Research continues to reveal how much our focus contributes to our unfolding reality. The neuroplasticity of our brains proves how what we focus on can shift our realities. We have the ability to rewire our brains simply by what we pay attention to. Isn't that amazing?!?!? And yet, so many of us choose to focus on thoughts and ideas that do not serve our wellbeing, becoming a detriment to our quality of life. Why is that?
I learned the hard way how I was creating my own reality. In my youth, I saw the world as this terrifying place which I lived in fear of. I did not have a positive outlook on life. It was dark to me, and I treated it that way. And sure enough, life chewed me up, and thankfully, spit me back out to give it another shot. There wa a long healing process after I hit rock bottom, but I was fortunate enough to see the proverbial Light. With my renewed lease on life I chose to proceed with a positive outlook and open heart.

It was not easy at first. I would still catch myself reverting back to my old ways of focusing on negative thoughts that popped up in my mind. The negativity still pops up, but much less frequently. I consciously choose to not focus on the negativity, knowing that it only multiplies the longer I stay focused on it. So I focus on all of the good I have going on in my life. Gratitude and appreciation for life has become my strongest ally, even when life is not turning out the way I planned it. I still have so much to be grateful for. My life is so much better now and I have never felt better about my future. 😃
My life is not exactly where I would like it to be right now, but I don't mind. I'm more focused on where I am headed. I focus on what is going right and what I need to do to get to where I am headed. I focus less on my problems and more on creating solutions to those problems. I swapped my doom and gloom outlook for excited anticipation. It's simply a matter of where I focus my attention. The results prove to me the power of focusing on the good. Where have you been focusing most of your attention lately? What has it been delivering to you?
