"All good things which exist are the fruits of originality."
What are a few qualities you possess that help define who you are? When meeting new people, what do you like to tell them about yourself? What are your fun facts that
can spark a good conversation? What makes you stand out? Or, are you looking to blend in and keep a low profile? Either way, we each have our own identity and unique characteristics that make us each different from one another. Even identical twins have their own fingerprints and personalities.
I consider myself to be someone who has a very unique personality. If you know me, you might say I am one of a kind. I do not look to conform to society's norms, but I also am not one to stand out in a crowd. I speak my mind but I do not believe I am very outspoken. I allow my opinion to be known, but I also respect the opinions of others. I'm fine with agreeing to disagree. I think it is very important for us to have and express our own ideas and opinions. That's how we make progress in life.
I have learned that my beliefs are my own and I cannot force them onto others. I have also learned that the more I open myself up to the ideas and opinions of others, the more I appreciate how we each contribute to the unfolding of each other's life and the world we inhabit. We put our individual impression on the lives of everyone we interact with every single day, just like a fingerprint. The more we choose to be ourselves, the more unique the impression we make.
We may not all want to be the star of the show, but we should be the star in our own life. The more comfortable we feel in our own skin, the more we can shine like the star we were meant to be, even if we are only meant to shine for a select few. What makes each of us different is what gives life the variety it needs to make it more interesting, entertaining and beautiful. What makes you one of a kind? What do you plan on doing today that will put your own unique fingerprint on the world? Go do it. We need more of that.
