It takes guts and grit

“Anything's possible if you've got enough nerve.”

- J.K. Rowling

No guts, no glory. Rise and grind. Keep going. Follow your heart. These are all quick and easy reminders that anything worth having in life can require quite a few traits, including courage, consistency, resiliency and passion. Let's assume you were not born into a wealthy family with lots of high-powered connections, like 99% of the rest of the world. Not much was handed to you. Maybe you had a decent upbringing, but you still had to work to build a life for yourself once you became an adult. This is where the dreamers who become the doers show us how to live our best life.

Not everyone follows their passions and commits to following through on their dreams. For those who do, especially the underdogs, they prove to the world that dreams can come true and it is possible to accomplish unimaginable feats. It may not be easy. It may be scary and grueling at first. It may even make you wonder why you chose to pursue such a lofty and seemingly unreachable goal. That is, until you finally reach it. 😊 And even if you do fall short, hopefully you got a lot of results and feedback from your progress along the way so you can pivot and carve a new path for yourself.

You do not need to be born into wealth or have powerful connections to turn your dreams into reality. Jut ask Oprah Winfrey, Richard Branson, J.K. Rowling and Eminem. They were not born with silver spoons in their mouths and did not have connections in their respective fields. They busted their asses. They faced tremendous adversity because of their upbringing and their determination to succeed. They never gave up, even when they felt like they were losing hope. They kept pursuing their goals, despite setbacks and the harsh realities of life. You may think they are exceptions to the rule. Who determined that? They did, by never giving up.

Do you have a dream or a goal you gave up on because it seemed unattainable and out of reach? Are you currently pursuing something that is the destination of your desire? Whether it is a professional or personal pursuit, I encourage everyone to reconsider or recommit to something you are truly passionate about. It is these pursuits that make life more adventurous and worth living. Courage, consistency, resiliency and passion are the magic elixir to turning dreams into reality, like a modern day alchemist. No guts, no glory. Rise and grind. Keep going. Follow your heart. It's up to you.
